Spectrum Uses SugarCRM on AIX 6
Spectrum Consulting has for some time been a user of the Open Source SugarCRM and have recently migrated this Open Source Software to a Virtualized AIX 6 partition using Virtualized I/O and Processors. The virtualized environment uses IBM PowerVM which enables the following advanced features:
- Consolidate a diverse set of applications from multiple operating systems on a single server: AIX®, IBM i, and Linux®
- Virtualize processor and I/O resources increasing asset utilization and reducing system costs
- Dynamically adjust server capability to meet changing workload demands
- Move running partitions between servers to avoid planned downtime
SugarCRM is an open-source software-solution vendor which produces the Sugar Customer Relationship Management (CRM) system. Sugar Open Source has been downloaded over 4,000,000 times.
SugarCRM develops CRM software in three editions:
- Sugar Community Edition
- Sugar Professional
- Sugar Enterprise
Each product derives from the same code tree, with Sugar Community Edition containing roughly 85 percent of the functionality contained in Sugar Professional and Sugar Enterprise. The products originated on the LAMP stack of Linux, Apache, MySQL and PHP, but also run well on other platforms that can deliver Apache, MySQL and PHP. SugarCRM can also use alternative databases such as Oracle. Product functionality includes sales-force automation, marketing campaigns, customer support, collaboration and reporting.
SugarCRM makes Sugar Community Edition available free of charge, and sells annual subscriptions to Sugar Professional and to Sugar Enterprise.
By combining the advantages of Enterprise UNIX and the cost savings of Open Source applications enables us to provide the best service to our customers at the lowest cost without compromising on security, availability, reliability and manageability.
